Utrecht, December 13, 2023 - Today the organization of VSK, the trade fair for the installation industry, announces the ten nominees for the VSK Awards 2024. The winners will receive the biennial installation awards on the opening day of the largest installation trade fair in the Netherlands. The nominations will also be on display in the VSK Awards Gallery. VSK will take place from Tuesday, February 6 to Friday, February 9 in Royal Jaarbeurs. This 26th edition is all about making the installation sector more sustainable.
Participants in the VSK could submit their innovations to a jury of ten, led by Techniek Nederland chairman Doekle Terpstra. All fifty entries were judged on innovation, solution orientation, practical applicability, social impact, sustainability and economic return.
Installation industry looks beyond boundaries of own product
These are exciting times for the technology sector, the jury concludes. Doekle Terpstra: "The sector is in the spotlight more than ever. This creates not only many opportunities, but also many challenges and responsibilities in the chain. Energy savings, sustainability and livelihood security were important topics in the last elections to the House of Representatives." The jury appreciates that entrants are looking beyond the boundaries of their own product, putting the circular use of materials in products higher and higher on the agenda, and paying more and more attention to the professionals who have to make it. Terpstra continues: "The capacity of installation companies is becoming decisive for the pace of the energy transition."
Material impact is increasingly important
This year, the jury is also looking at the material impact of the entries. Both in terms of material choice and circularity, and in terms of waste streams. Of particular note were the entries in which materials were reused or sustainably produced. This is something the jury wants to mention explicitly this year. The jury expects this theme to be even more important at the next VSK, both on the exhibition floor and in the entries for the VSK Awards.

VSK: at the center of the installation sector for over 50 years
At the upcoming edition of VSK, over 330 exhibitors specializing in E- and W-installation will be ready to inspire visitors about their innovations and sustainable developments. Joyce van de Hoef, VSK exhibition manager: "The installation sector is in the biggest transition phase in its history. The sector faces the challenge of making the Netherlands more sustainable in order to achieve the ambitious climate goals. The installation sector plays an indispensable role in this."
