Raimond Taal, Commercial Director robatherm Netherlands, on partnership in air treatment. The world of air treatment is changing rapidly. Sustainability, energy efficiency and hygiene are making increasingly high demands on systems and on the parties who design and install them. According to Raimond Taal, Commercial Director of robatherm Nederland, the key lies in cooperation: "We are only successful if our installer is too."
More than a supplier
"At robatherm, we do not deliver a standard air handling unit, but a solution that exactly fits the project. Every situation requires a different approach - a hospital has different requirements than an office or a food production line. That complexity suits us. We build custom air handling units of high quality, thinking along from the first design. This creates a system that matches the technical requirements and the installer's practice."
According to Taal, robatherm is therefore not a traditional supplier: "We see ourselves as an extension of the installer. He must be able to rely on the solution, but also on the process leading up to it. That is why we are involved from the first design phase. We think along with the technical details, deliver the complete units ready for connection or build together on site. In this way we relieve the installer and prevent logistical problems on the construction site. Ultimately, we are only successful if our installer is too."
Unburdening at every stage
Practice shows that projects are becoming increasingly complex. Deadlines are under pressure and technical requirements are increasing. "Installers are expected to know everything: from efficiency to airtightness, from BIM to hygiene. That's a lot. We take over some of that responsibility. Our engineers ensure that the design is correct, that the documentation is complete and that the cabinet does exactly what the consultant calculated. This allows the installer to focus on his core work: installing."
Unburdening is not an empty promise at robatherm. "We deliver what we promise, tested and ready to connect. And should something change during the process - which often happens in practice - we switch quickly and think along with you. We don't work side by side, but with each other."
Sustainability as a matter of course
robatherm positions itself as a high-end supplier, but that goes beyond just quality. "We invest structurally in sustainability. We are EcoVadis silver certified, which is quite exceptional in our industry. This shows that we not only build efficiently and hygienically, but also do business responsibly. Our air handling units are designed for maximum energy efficiency and a long service life. That aligns perfectly with the sustainability goals of our customers and end users."
To me, partnership means really understanding each otherRaimond Taal, Commercial Director robatherm Netherlands
According to Taal, sustainability has now become self-evident: "It is not a trend, it is the norm. And that requires partners who look beyond the delivery of a product. We think along in BREEAM or WELL projects, look at material use, maintenance and reusability. This is how we ensure future-proof solutions together."
Knowledge of markets, eye for detail
"Whether it's a hospital, an office complex or a production site in the food industry, every market has its own requirements. We know those worlds inside out. In high-care environments, where air quality and hygiene are literally vital, our systems meet the strictest standards. In utilities, it's all about comfort and efficiency, in industry about robustness and reliability. What all these projects have in common is that they require partners who understand how important details are."
Partnership as a starting point
"To me, partnership means that you really understand each other," says Taal. "That we not only deliver what is requested, but also think along about what can be improved. Sometimes that's in a small detail in the cabinet, sometimes in an adjustment to the design. That collaboration makes all the difference. We don't just work for the installer, we work with him."
Taal concludes, "We understand the challenges that installers and consultants face every day: time pressure, technical complexity, high expectations. That's why we want to be their partner in realizing healthy, sustainable indoor air. Because good air - comfortable, hygienic and efficient - is ultimately always the result of teamwork."
