Since September 29, 2025, mechanics working with natural refrigerants must also be certified. This certification obligation already existed for working with F-gases. This means that current and future technicians must (re)certify in time to meet the requirements.

Depending on what certificates you currently hold, additional exams will need to be taken to meet the new requirements. NVKL has a handy interactive customer journey development to see which theory and/or practical exams you need to take to meet the requirements based on your current certificates, or which exemptions you are eligible for.

To complete the theoretical exam, NVKL has developed an online learning platform specifically for the industry to implement mastering this theory. Get informed during this session on how to get and keep your certification on order.

The session will be hosted by Zohar Tzur, project manager Legislation and Innovation and Brenda Witzier, project manager Education & Labor Market. Both are employed by the NVKL.
