During VSK 2014, Alklima/Mitsubishi Electric caused a stir by presenting itself in the heating hall. Importing air conditioners and heat pumps among boiler manufacturers was remarkable, to say the least. That was then. With the energy transition, that sharp line has since disappeared.
Vision and progress
"Yes, we were looked at a bit strangely that fair. After all, what was a company like ours doing in the heating hall? It was nothing rebellious, just a result of our vision. That was 11 years ago. Our vision is pretty much unchanged. With "The Road to All-Electric," we've had our course to 2050 and beyond clear for decades. Of course, we have a head start on that. The quality and reputation of Mitsubishi Electric's climate equipment help tremendously. But that alone does not make for a comfortable indoor climate or a successful energy transition," says Erwin Bonis, marketing manager of Alklima/Mitsubishi Electric.
The important role of installers
"Installers are the most important link to healthy, sustainable and comfortable buildings," states Erwin. Meanwhile, the labor market remains tight, regulations change regularly and technological developments follow in rapid succession. "A fair like the VSK+E provides an accessible opportunity to share knowledge and expertise with installers. For example, about the f-gas regulation, grid congestion or noise. Topics that concern them, are important, but sometimes lack time or expertise. We are happy to support them in this. For example, through practical training courses via our Skills knowledge platform. We call that cooperation with added value."

Future-proof
In addition to knowledge, future-proofing is a theme during this VSK+E. Thus, there is plenty of room for innovation. The natural refrigerant R290 (propane) plays a major role in this. Erwin Bonis: "With a view to the future, Mitsubishi Electric has clearly chosen security and reliability. With a view to the phasing out of f-gases, but also, for example, with a view to digitalization. We really have a lot to show, experience and tell the coming VSK+E.
