Turning dredge into usable raw materials. The idea is promising. The start-up Blauwe Bagger developed a machine that is currently on trial in Dordrecht. "Bicycles, stones, PFAS. We extract everything."
"This is a dredge separation machine. It's called the Bluebox," says one of the initiators of the unusual dredging machine Abbe Hekkert. "What problem it solves? We extract several fractions from the contaminated dredge (water, sand, clay)... Ultimately, the idea is to turn this into usable raw materials."
He continues: "Who is waiting for this? Contractors, but also water boards with circular ambitions and municipalities. The biggest challenge? The volume..."
